Go to your local CL, or if you don't have CL where you live, the closest thing to it I guess, and find the best deal at $750 or less. Post your findings.
Here's one. These Explorers are tanks. I had one that was a '92 and paid $100 for. A crack in the windshield doesn't seem too severe. A/C not working could still be ok.

Okay, so I adusted for the difference between USD and CAD, but this is the coolest thing I could find around here (with a chance of running) for that. Lots of old trucks and stuff that actually do run and a handful of econobox beaters. Also some probably half decent cars from outside of the province that get their price tag chopped in half because everyone here is afraid of the provincial inspections.

1985 Jaguar XJS for $300
Yes, I did go look at it last night with every intention of buying it. Yes the interior has moss growing on it. The LS Swapped XJS dies yet again.

That is heartbreaking. Though, for the price, I would try to get it going somehow.

I am going to think about it more today but, it definitely looks like the driver's side window has been down since about 1987. The entire interior would have to ripped out and replaced. It was super bad.

Running would be preferable. Typical maintenance is fine. But if it needs a motor, or half the body, then I would avoid posting it, unless it's hilarious.
